Glycolic acid is naturally occuring and derived from sugar cane, beets, and pineapple.  This acid effectively removed dead skin cells on the outermost layer of the skin, helping to brighten the complexion and is used to treat scarring, skin discoloration and aging skin by increasing collagen production.
Lactic acid dissolves dead skin cells without causing aggitation to sensitive skin types, increases cellular turnover rates and encourages skin to hold hydration and improves pigmentation. 
 Kojic acid lightens visible damage caused by sun exposure, age spots, and scarring by blocking tryonsine from forming. This acid is also antifungal and antibacterial which helps prevent development of common skin infections.
